Do you want to get defined quickly? Whether it’s for summer, an event, or any other reason.
A defined muscle is a muscle with low fat accumulation.
So, DIET plays a very important role throughout the process! Let’s make this very clear: A workout for muscle definition should be performed with the SAME INTENSITY as a workout for MUSCLE HYPERTROPHY.
In this article, you’ll learn how to lose weight the right way to define your body, including burning localized fat.
How long does it take to get defined?
This varies from person to person, but one key factor should be dedication to a good workout program and consistency with your diet!
Every workout, if prescribed correctly, aims to build lean muscle mass and lose fat. Your diet is what will enhance this or not. And there’s no workout, if done properly, that will “decrease” your lean muscle mass…

Essential tips for getting defined quickly
When a person gains muscle mass, their basal metabolic rate increases—the natural number of calories burned at rest—because the body needs energy to maintain a certain amount of muscle mass.
This way, your daily calorie expenditure increases. As a result, if you follow a good diet, you’ll burn more calories and have greater success reducing fat. It’s that simple. And this applies to men AND women.
With that said, here are some essential tips for getting defined quickly.
1. Weight training helps burn fat at rest!
How can weight training help you lose fat if it doesn’t burn that many calories and doesn’t get you much into the fat-burning zone? The straightforward answer isn’t what happens DURING your workout, but AFTER it, because fat utilization increases in the hours following your workout.
As long as your workout is WELL SUPERVISED, weight training can speed up fat elimination throughout the day, helping you lose more weight than low- and moderate-intensity cardio!!! With your metabolism revved up, you keep burning fat long after physical activity.
2. Focus on compound exercises
Let’s get straight to the point… To help with fat loss, the tip is to choose exercises that work several muscles and joints at the same time, such as bench presses, barbell squats, rows, pulldowns, and leg presses…

This counters the myth that you should use isolation exercises to get defined in one body part or another. Compound exercises have several advantages, such as greater increases in metabolism from engaging more muscle mass.
3. Is cardio essential?
I don’t recommend long, low-intensity cardio sessions for weight loss. If you do them for leisure and enjoyment, that’s fine. We already know they’re not the best strategy for fat loss. You could run from here to the moon and your fat loss would be minimal. It would be easy for me to recommend running 5 km a day, but it wouldn’t get you anywhere. Focus on your diet. Always. If it’s for leisure, that’s fine! Do it because you enjoy it! No problem!

4. Focus primarily on nutrition!
Nutrition is the main pillar for promoting energy balance and leading to fat loss.
Improving your eating habits, combined with regular strength training, is the path to changing your body composition—in other words, losing fat and gaining muscle mass.
Getting defined quickly: final thoughts
Once again, the advice is to always rely on professional support. This applies not only to weight training, which should be supervised by a physical education professional, but also to diet and supplements, which should be guided by a nutritionist.
It seems simple… and actually, it is… haha. The big secret is CONSISTENCY!
Make a commitment and prioritize your health!
Would you miss an appointment with your doctor or dentist, or a scheduled trip to the nail salon? Just like those commitments, make exercise something you can’t skip!
