Hamstring definition: does it take longer?
A question from several followers: “Thiago… which gym exercises would you recommend for hamstring definition?” To be clear: it’s not possible to do a specific (isolation) workout for the legs and glutes without involving opposing muscle groups.
Workout split
So, if you follow this split and do squats during your quadriceps workout, know that you’re also working your hamstrings and glutes, even if that’s not what you intended.
Hamstring exercises
However, although deep squats, leg presses, and lunges build hamstring muscle, the gains are smaller than for the quadriceps.
This goes beyond women’s aesthetic concerns, since this muscle imbalance could be one of the reasons for the higher incidence of knee pain among women.
To get back to the question and answer it directly: to complement your gym workout with essential compound exercises such as leg presses and deep squats, I would recommend Romanian deadlifts and leg curls.
Have a great hamstring workout
These muscles (yes, your hamstrings are actually made up of three separate muscles) run along the backs of your thighs from your hips to your knees—and they come into play in almost every leg and lower-body exercise.
Your hamstrings power much of your body and help you climb stairs, walk, or run on an inclined treadmill. Any high-intensity exercise relies on them.
And if you want to squat lower, push farther, and generally act like a badass during leg workouts, taking the time for a good hamstring workout is a must.

There’s no secret to getting definition: quality training and a well-planned diet. This increases your daily calorie expenditure and, consequently, helps you succeed in reducing body fat. It’s that simple. Not to mention the aesthetic benefits… a harmonious body is one that’s developed evenly!
With this information, have I convinced you to pay more attention to your hamstring workouts?
