There’s no magic formula
Are 8 reps for building muscle and 15 reps for getting lean? MAYBE
This is one of the biggest MYTHS IN WEIGHT TRAINING!
Doing more reps won’t speed up fat loss!
Remember… Every workout, if properly prescribed, aims to build lean muscle and lose fat 😉
What will make that more or less effective is your diet 😉 There’s no well-designed workout, of course, that will “reduce” your lean muscle mass… believe me 😉
Fat loss happens uniformly… not in specific areas. It’s impossible to lose fat from just one part of your body.
A well-designed weight training workout burns fat.
What will help you lose weight and body fat is a combination of a well-PRESCRIBED weight training program and a diet aimed at consuming fewer calories than you burn each day.
That way, your body will be in a calorie deficit and draw on its fat stores to make up the difference.
The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn
It’s important to note that the greater your muscle mass, the more calories you’ll burn each day, because muscle needs more energy to function. So, the more muscle you have, the more calories you’ll burn each day.
That’s why weight training is so important for weight loss!
Do quick reps work?
Keep in mind that EVERY PROFESSIONAL has THEIR OWN OPINION and criteria. I’m sharing MY opinion here. Make your choice. I’ve made mine: I don’t do or prescribe quick reps.
Focus on compound exercises and forget about trendy exercises!
Please, I’ve talked about this many times, but it’s always good to remember… haha. Don’t make up exercises, and don’t follow some fitness influencer who kicks her leg up and says it’s good for your butt…
