Weight training or cardio
This is a very common sight at gyms when it comes to fat loss.
Unfortunately, many people still believe that long-duration cardio is the best or only strategy for fat loss. This is a big mistake and, fortunately, a myth that is gradually being debunked.
Scientific evidence increasingly shows that long sessions of moderate- or low-intensity cardio are not capable of producing the desired fat-loss results.
💥 And what about weight training? WEIGHT TRAINING helps you lose fat! Depending on the intensity and the exercises prescribed… YES! Weight training can speed up fat burning throughout the day, helping you lose more weight than low- and moderate-intensity cardio!!! With your metabolism revved up, you keep burning fat long after your workout.
Exercises for fat loss
Which exercises can help most with fat loss? Choose compound exercises such as the barbell back squat, front squat, deadlift, pull-up…
Just to give you an idea, both the deadlift and the squat, for example, work as exercises to increase strength and build muscle throughout the body. More than 200 muscles are involved in performing them!!! On top of that, they are among the exercises that release the most growth hormone (hGH) and testosterone, increasing strength and muscle growth throughout the body.
Focus on your diet
One important caveat: A good workout won’t work without a good diet. Think of your body as a car. It needs fuel to run. But not just any fuel will do. It needs the right fuel; otherwise, it won’t run properly and may develop problems.
Weight training or cardio?
I don’t recommend moderate- or long-duration, low-intensity cardio for weight loss. If you do it for leisure and enjoyment, that’s fine. It’s already well known that it’s not the best strategy for fat loss.
You can run all the way to the moon… and the amount of fat you lose will be tiny. It would be convenient for me to recommend that you run 5 km a day… but it wouldn’t get you anywhere. Focus on your diet. Always. If it’s for leisure, that’s fine!! Do it because you enjoy it! No problem!

Do you want to lose fat? Maybe for summer, an event, or whatever your reason.
A defined muscle is a muscle with little fat around it.
So, DIET plays a very important role in the whole process! Let’s be clear: A workout program for muscle definition should be performed at the SAME INTENSITY as a workout program for MUSCLE HYPERTROPHY.
In this article, you’ll learn how to lose weight the right way to define your body, including how to burn fat in specific areas.
